Extended Team Fortress 2 time giving you nausea?
Starting to develop walleye vision from pushing FOV to the limit?
Is your gaming just becoming to 3d to handle?
Fear not, not fancy lad! A sidescrolling Team Fortress 2 mod is here to shake you by the straps of your underoos.
"The Great Class Dash", made by Dylan "Steaky" Loney, is a single player puzzle/timing sidescroller released on ModDB just yesterday. The title first caught attention when Steaky released a video of his creation on youtube just a couple months ago. After positive feedback and plenty of interest, his undertaking has gone public.
The mod is a hybrid of your classic timing (perpetually running) sidescroller and a "Trine"-style character-switching puzzle solver. Beginning as a scout and heavy you must traverse the level by using each character type's single unique ability to pass obstacles. The scout crosses gaps with his double jump and the heavy uses his hard head to break walls. As the levels progress, you eventually unlock all 9 original tf2 classes and their skill.
With a fast pace and nine options to tackle each situation, the going gets tough, and quickly. "The Great Class Dash" boasts four levels total and around 30 minutes of playtime (which could easily turn into longer). The graphics, which are very basically a regular TF2 map limited to one perspective, keep the ambience and art design of the original. The concept is kept fresh by giving a completion score for each level, though it ist't explained how it's judged (one would assume it's time alone).
"The Great Clash Dash" is a good concept that isn't fully realized yet. The few glitches, character sticking and teleport issues, seem to be easy fixes. More work must be done on getting some audio, ambient sounds, character voices, etc. There is not nearly enough audio and no music. Original graphic designs (I'm looking at you, you fucking dumb animals) also need some improvement. These issues aside, it is absolutely a worthy download for anyone with Team Fortress 2 and a great effort on the part of the creator.

I like when things happen the week of my test.
